Reece Oxford staying in Germany
What is the point of sending him out on loan to a club that doesn't even play him.

Oxford set to stay in Germany despite reports

Reece Oxford is happy and settled in Germany and stories that he will be on his way back to West Ham in January look wide of the mark.

Academy boss Terry Westley has told ClaretandHugh that he has no idea where the story that he is set to return to the East End has come from.

Speaking exclusively to CandH the academy boss said that his conversations with Borussia Monchengladbach have remained entirely positive and given they have only played seven games and are tenth in the Bundesliga everyone believes Reece’s time will come.

He said: “I have no idea where the story has come from but Gladbach tell me they like him and were pleased with his performances in two friendly games and like his attitude in training. There is certainly no suggestion of him coming home unless they know something they haven’t told me.”

Reece in fact is having a German lesson every week and Westley said: “He has his own apartment and is really enjoying that and his life in the country.”

Meanwhile he and goalkeeper Nathan Trott have been called up for England under 20s during the international break with Nathan Holland on standby

Among the others drafted in to their national sides are Declan Rice and Josh Cullen (Republic of Ireland U21), Martin Samuelsen (Norway U21), Rihards Matrevics (Latvia U19), Anthony Scully (Republic of Ireland U19) and Dan Kemp (England U19).

Re: Reece Oxford Staying in Germany
German bloke I knew worked for Bosch and said that their IT Department's working language is English, and many of the English blokes they employ spoke no German after being there for years.

This may be very out of date

A lesson EVERY week? Gosh, that really is dedication, however does he fit it in?

I believe the original story was :
Hammers bad boy Reece Oxford (who once interested MANCHESTER UNITED) about to goose step away from his NAZI nightmare as depressed over the 20th anniversary of the death of PRINCESS DIANA and general BREXIT related matters

Why do people buy The Sun? They write rubbish as fact and clearly it is just lies to fill space. Fcuked if I'd pay for a bunch of made-up stories...

Must of thought he had arrived after the performance against Arsenal two seasons ago.

Is there any evidence of oxford needing to get away from negative influences? I'm sure if you are on £20k a week you can pay for a few easy jets to Germany for your mates so hardly a barrier.

The kid isn't playing so bring him back and let us work on his development. Is it that big a deal?

Would any of you ask for £20k a week if you knew you would get it?

Why is it a bad reflection on our youth policy?

Other youngsters go out on loan and work hard, Oxford seems to be in the mould of Ravel Morrison in having some talent but not being all that bothered at using it.

It's all about the bling and the girls.

How can the best option be to give up on the deal after just six games and bring him back to all the negative influences we sent him there to get away from?

BMG must have seen enough of him to know he wasn't going to play this season and that is down to the player. He's a waster.

If I was 18 and was told I could 1m a year I would ask for it too, wouldn't you?

Seems like a bright kid. Let's hope now his financial future is secure he can concentrate on developing his footballing skills and maturity without the pressure of getting cut and being broke like Famino, Turgott, Holligan and all the other future superstars from football manager

Will def be on a mil as that's 20k a week.

Re: Reece Oxford no games played for borussia mönchengladbach
I heard that he's already on £1m a year at 18. We had to pay it or he'd move to a bigger club and that is the problem for these kids. They think they have made it before they have done fcuk all.

It'll be a real shame if he doesn't make it now but perhaps he needs the set-backs to appreciate that at this moment in time, he is no longer guaranteed to be a success...

Re: Reece Oxford no games played for borussia mönchengladbach
It's seems like the best move really. He comes back, a few sessions over Dec, possible chance in January or the window opens and he can move on. Got to be better that staying at a club that doesn't need him.

This kid is hated due to rumour and expectation. Perhaps he isn't the new Rio but he might just mature into a good squad player and with no money down.

"Oxford will return to West Ham on Dec. 16, the date of his 19th birthday"

What the fuck is that all about, why wait?

"How does this little cunt have the power to cut this loan short?"

HE doesn't. Both clubs have to be in agreement to cut a long term loan short outside of the transfer window. I would imagine that the club were disappointed in his lack of game time and have decided that he might be better suited playing for our reserves, rather than theirs. It would appear that BMG are in agreement.

How does this little cunt have the power to cut this loan short? How many chances does he need? Great opportunity THIS, fucked another one up. Kids a waster.

I thought he went out there to mature and keep away from distractions? LMFAO.
